Walking into your first NAFN event can feel equal parts exciting and why did I leave the house with a baby today? We get it. Here’s exactly what to expect, no awkward surprises, promise.

Before the Event: You’re Not Alone

No need to RSVP, just double-check the event date, time, and location and toss it on your calendar (future you will be grateful). If questions pop up: parking, strollers, babies who skipped naps – you can text us anytime at 512-270-8588 and reach a real human from the North Austin Family Network. Nervous jitters are totally normal. Every confident regular you’ll meet was new once too.

During the Event: Come As You Are

When you arrive, look for the group—strollers, diaper bags, and friendly chaos are a dead giveaway. If you’re unsure, venue staff can point you in the right direction. Introduce yourself when it feels natural, or just listen and settle in. There’s zero pressure to perform. One thing to expect: the event host will find you and grab your phone number so we can keep you looped in.

After the Event: The Magic Happens

You’ll receive a short follow-up survey by text—filling it out helps us keep everything organized (and saves you from answering the same questions later). You’ll also get an invite to our WhatsApp Community so you can join chats that actually interest you. Last but most important: pick your next event and put it on the calendar. Community isn’t built in one meetup—it’s built through showing up again.
