Life with a 12–18 month old can feel like chasing a tornado on tiny legs — but it’s also full of wonder. In our Mama Meet Up community, parents share what works and lean on each other for the tricky parts.
🛏️ Floor Beds: Many moms recommend moving toddlers from a crib to a floor bed around this stage. It encourages independence, gives them freedom to explore safely, and makes bedtime less of a battle. It also eases the transition from crib to big bed, and enables the child to feel more independent.
🏊 Mini Minnow Monday: Our “mommy & me” pool time isn’t a formal swim class — it’s splashy fun, confidence-building, and a chance for toddlers to love the water while parents connect. It also holds us all accountable to regularly getting in the water with our littles. The location changes, so feel free to text us at 512-270-8588. You don’t have to have attended a meet up to join us at these free swim play events!
🥕 Meal Prep & Play Date: Once a month we gather to chop, prep, and play. Parents leave with toddler-approved snacks ready for the month — a sanity saver during picky eating phases. These are hosted in member’s private homes, so you must attend one public event prior to getting an invite.
🚶 Delayed Walking Worries: Many parents in this age group feel anxious if their toddler isn’t walking “on time.” Talking it through with other parents can be reassuring — you’ll quickly see that there’s a wide range of normal. And when it’s time to seek extra support (like a chat with your pediatrician or early intervention services), the group can help guide those next steps with encouragement and shared experience.
💬 Questions Welcome: In this season, moms are constantly asking: What snacks actually get eaten? Is it time to drop a nap? How do you manage big toddler feelings? The group shines by offering supportive feedback and sharing what’s worked in their own homes.
Together, we remind each other: parenting is easier — and way more fun — when done side by side. 💕
