One of the best parts of parenting in North Austin is the wealth of family-friendly programs and places to explore. Here are eight favorites our community recommends:
👩👩👧 Parents as Teachers (Leander)
A wonderful program that supports families with young children through playgroups, parent education, and resources.
🌉 Bridges to Growth (Georgetown)
Offering parenting classes, early childhood programs, and community events, this center is a hub for learning and connection.
📚 Local Libraries
Leander, Cedar Park, and Liberty Hill libraries all host baby and toddler storytimes. They’re free, fun, and a great way to meet other families.
Like a library but for toys! Families can borrow a variety of educational and fun toys, perfect for rotating play at home.
A hands-on farm experience where kids can explore gardens, animals, and outdoor play. They have recurring play groups and can help get your kiddo out into nature in a way that meets your expectations as well.
🌼 Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
A stunning spot for nature walks, outdoor play, and learning about Texas native plants. They also have fun seasonal activities which makes going back again and again a local Austin family staple.
Toddlers love the safe, bouncy fun of open gym playtime. It expands a ton of energy and is fun for parents and toddlers alike! Pre-registration is highly recommended. It runs Friday mornings during the school year from 10 – 12 and is $10 to attend.
🏖 Toddler Time at Volente Beach
A summertime favorite — gentle water fun just for the littles.
✨ These spots aren’t just activities; they’re opportunities to build community, make memories, and enjoy family life in North Austin together.
